My name is Ashlei. I am in the class of 2027 and I currently attend Capital High School and am involved with Evolvement. This is my first year in it. I joined Evolvement because I wanted to be part of something bigger than just school and actually make a difference in my community. I was introduced to Evolvement through my teacher Mr. Fielder at my school and after learning more about what they do, I knew it was something I wanted to be involved in.
The training took place during the training season in the medical labs at CHS, and was a really meaningful experience for me. Throughout the training, we participated in different activities, discussions, and team-building exercises that helped us grow as leaders and connect with one another. It was clear that we were all there for the same purpose, tobacco free schools! My favorite part of the training was getting to work with other students and learning through interactive activities, because it made the lessons feel real and relatable.
This training was important because it helped me better understand the usage of tobacco in school and by minors. I learned new skills that I can use not only in Evolvement but also in school and my everyday life. It also brought our group closer together and helped us support one another more. New Evolvement students can expect to feel welcomed, inspired, and encouraged at this training. Returning students should continue coming because each training helps you grow more, and it’s a great opportunity to learn, connect, and push yourself to be better educated.
